When someone thinks of a gamer he usually imagines a person who waist hours of his life being anti-social and sitting in forint of the screen. Even thou gaming is usually a solitary endeavor, this is not always the case. Gamers have always found ways to connect and play together, or to challenge each other to a showdown of skills. The internet has made it possible for people who play games all over the world to connect and communicate while they spend their favorite past time together.
Some of the games are challenging and need a lot of cooperation and thinking thru the decisions in order achieve the goal and be victorious. The main part of gaming, especially over the internet, is teamwork and the advancement of self, thru a given or personalized character.

When we take the stereotypes away we can see that these people are highly motivated (they can spend hours doing a single task in order to complete it), they like cooperation, they are creative and capable of improvising when encountering an obstacle.
The thing is, maybe all of these characteristics are ignored in some of the 9 to 5 jobs. Imagine giving the same effort we give while we play games to some of the jobs we have in real life. Multitasking skills have also been attributed to people who play games. The thing is that during a game you have to change different mental processes in order to achieve your goal. Remember this does not mean that you can do more things at the same time, but that you can change from one action to the other with easy and perform each perfectly.
